Activities on the Caribbean Islands
Time simple gallops away in the Caribbean and no matter how much you see, you just cannot have enough. The options are many; we have just listed a few.
Cruising
There are various cruise packages on offer. If you are a first timer, there is no place like the Caribbean to be initiated to the pleasures of cruising. The West Caribbean cruise will serve your purpose nicely. On the other hand, to experience the heady cultural pot that is the Caribbean, you can try the Southern Caribbean cruise, with its mix and match of various cultures and the best of Caribbean cuisines. Hop on a cruise ship and head east wards to treat your eyes to some of the most stunning vistas of the Caribbean. For a short cruise, travel to Nassau or Freeport and if you are looking for something more unique, take a cruise that lets you explore 'The Baths' in Virgin Gorda. Here you will find mammoth granite boulders, which bear an uncanny resemblance and to the mysterious Stonehenge monoliths in England.
Adventure walk
Walk through a fault in a semi-active volcano in Lucia's la Sofriere. Smell the rousing sulphur or fee your hair stand on end as an immense crater spits and hisses.
Curacao Seaquarium
Here is a chance to do something different, something that is unique to the Caribbean Islands. Visit the Curacao seaquarium and feel the adrenaline rush as you feed the sharks with your own hands. A quick training session before the activity is a must.
Helmet Diving/Bermuda Bell Diving
Helmet diving originated in Bermuda and hence the name. You'll be given a special helmet for your diving expedition which will allow you to breathe freely and tour the awe-inspiring world of corals, sponges, and stunning marine life.
Beaches
Soak up the sun on the bewitching beaches, while away the time making patterns in the sand, or simply gaze idly at the aquamarine waters of the sea. The Caribbean Islands are also famous for their nude beaches with the biggest attraction being the St Martin’s Orient Nude Beach, ideal for getting the treasured bronze look.
Underwater Caribbean
Take a cruise in a glass bottom boat to observe the spectacular coral and the exotic marine life. These trips are offered by most islands of the Caribbean. You also have the choice of combining your tour with a cruise and snorkeling. You can also explore the underwater Caribbean on a submarine.
Visit the Caribbean Islands and discover for yourself why they are a magnet for the rich and famous or why personalities like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones take pride in calling them their home.
