Splendido is the height of elegance and luxury located in a gated community, set on the fifth hole of Casa de Campo's private golf course with sweeping views of the Caribbean and marina. The villa, with its long, palm tree-lined drive, is set on two acres of flowering trees, gardens and rolling hills, all meticulously groomed by the villa's personal staff.
Splendido has been decorated by a top New York designer with exceptional wood pieces personally selected in Bali and Bangkok, giving the villa a rich East Asian theme. A mood of complete serenity greets you as step into an atrium surrounded by stone columns, a unique fountain fabricated with coral stone and a lava stone sculpture from Asia.
The remarkable library, with mahogany built-ins, houses a vast array of reading material, a large screen TV, CD and DVD players. Exceptional artwork adorns the library's beautiful coral walls and makes this large room feel cozy while providing another great entertaining area. The library also has its own full bathroom with alfresco shower.
The three eating areas include a large dining room seating 14 at an outstanding 12 ft. long Balinese teak table and chairs, a poolside table for eight under a pergola with exotic flowering vines and additional seating for 8 under a covered terrace. Also shaded under the eaves of this enormous terrace is a living area complete with luxuriously comfortable furniture. There is an elegant coral stone bar and a large Balinese carved mirror that reflects the breathtaking ocean views. This exquisite covered area looks through pillared columns to the villa's pool and Jacuzzi. Ocean breezes keep you cool in all seasons.
The vast living room has a cathedral ceiling, from which hangs a huge custom-made copper lantern. Sit on one of the two 10 ft. lush sofas around the massive antique teak coffee table and appreciate the monumental Terrence Lanoue oil painting that hangs above a large teak Chinese console.
The enormous state-of-the-art kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances throughout, as well as an indoor and outdoor grill. There is a separate service kitchen, servant's rooms and laundry behind the kitchen. Splendido is fortunate to have an English speaking houseman and cook as part of the staff of 5 servants.
Its location, while just minutes from Casa de Campo's beach, marina, and many activities, is a peaceful haven. Guests have access to Casa de Campo's beach facilities, equestrian center and, just minutes from the villa, the world renowned 'Teeth of the Dog' and 'Dye Fore' golf courses.
