St. Bernard's Hill House offers serene seclusion in a private, lush setting within an electronically-gated enclave, providing an amazing 300 bird's-eye view of the Virgin Islands and miles of sea and sky. This private 8-acre hilltop estate is the top of the world for those who seek privacy and a catered holiday in cool and breezy seclusion. Your stay includes the talents of a gourmet chef for your dining pleasures.
This 5 bedroom property consists of 4 pavilions set within colorful tropical gardens. St. Bernard's spacious main pavilion comprises the great room, a dining room seating 10, the kitchen and an air conditioned study with a computer. Arched doorways open out to a wonderful covered verandah which spans 3 sides of this pavilion and overlooks the ocean. Various seating and alfresco dining areas are scattered around the wraparound shady deck, ready for gatherings, cocktails or a game of chess or cards; on the lee side are a bar and cushioned seating for watching the flat-screen TV. The main pavilion also houses the large master king suite.
On the south side of the main pavilion is a small manicured lawn which borders a unique terrace overlooking the yachts below, and a panoramic vista of islands and sea. A few stairs from the lawn area descend through tropical plantings to the pool and furnished sundeck below. The infinity-edged pool is heated 24/7; the pool and deck overlook Tortola's Long Bay Beach, Smugglers Cove and the salt pond, where pink flamingos are occasionally spotted.
From the entrance of the main pavilion, a walkway meanders through gardens to the separate North Cottage, This air-conditioned king suite is tucked just far enough away to provide romantic privacy.
The Double Cottage is just adjacent to the Main Pavilion. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, air conditioned cottage is perfect for parents and small children. It offers 2 bedroom/bathroom suites under one roof, joined by an interior hallway.
Next door to Double Cottage is the charming South Cottage, a separate air conditioned bungalow. Below Double Cottage is the new air conditioned home gym, well equipped with varied fitness gear, mirrors, TV and DVD player.
You'll be well cared for by the villa's gracious and attentive staff; the chef stands ready to prepare and serve a delightful selection of sumptuous meals for you. Pleasing decor from around the world graces this unique property, with antique pieces and original Caribbean artwork adding to its charm and natural beauty.
