  • It was a very luxurious, peaceful and private hioliday

    Alyson Carter (August 23rd, 2011) - total 80%

We booked our stay at as the first week of a two week stay on Koh Samui.

The Palace is a huge property in Thong Krut, which is a very quiet fishing village, about 15-20 minutes from the reasonably large and busy town of Nathon. There are some small shops/restaurants about 5 minutes walk from The Palace, but you do need a car or taxi/minibuses to travel around to other parts of the island.

The Palace was very luxurious, and the four Thai staff were very happy and very attentive to all of our needs (we were a family group of 10 ranging in ages from 2 to 77).
All the food prepared by the chef was really first class, - made from local ingredients, and the chef was careful not to make the dishes too hot for our Western palate.

The large open plan living area on the first floor was spacious and always seemed to have a gentle breeze coming off the sea, which made it unnecessary to have the air conditioning on.

The bedrooms were large and very comfortable, and the bathrooms large and luxurious. The huge infinity pool ran down to the white sandy beach, and was surrounded by a large sunbathing terrace on one side, and an outdoor eating area on the other. The staff were more than happy to set up lunch/dinner down by the pool when asked.

The sea is no good for swimming in, as it remains shallow even when the tide is in, and the sea bed is largely covered with coral, but the pool was great.

Whilst walking along the beach, the only people we saw anywhere were a few locals wading out looking for shellfish and octopus. About 100 yards along the beach to the left there are a couple of beach bars/restaurants, but again very few people seemed to be there.

The guys from the Management company (Lee, Adam & Nick) were very helpful in sorting out the large minibus taxi we used several times, and they also arranged for masseuses to visit the villa a couple of times.

It was a very luxurious, peaceful and private place, and it really did feel like we were well looked after by the staff.

We would definitely recommend The Palace for anyone that wants peaceful luxury!

  • very enjoyable holiday

    William Setruk (August 23rd, 2011) - total 82%

We spent 2 weeks very enjoyable in this villa late June / early July.

The villa is located in the South of the island in a very quiet area and little frequented by tourists. We greatly appreciate the calm and our privacy.

The rooms are very spacious and well equipped, the swimming pool is really huge and very well maintained.

The staff of the rental company Adam and Nick were more than perfect and answered all our expectations.

On-site, there are 4 absolutely kind Thai people, to care for the proper functioning of the property, including a head chef (Chaba), she has prepared dishes everyday, tasty and delicious.

The beach in front of the villa is very beautiful, white sand and very clean.
However, it is not possible to swim in the sea nearby, just 40 cm of water at high tide.

A small single criticism should renovate the washrooms and showers and air conditioners that begin to age.
