Wonderfully located on the buoyant waters of Old Fort Bay just west of Ocho Rios, Villa Lido is one of the most comfortable family homes in the area. Its large grassy lawn, private pool and long beachfront make this villa a dream house for children of all ages - and for parents too, who love long barefoot walks on the beach.
The downstairs living room has two large double doors that open onto a covered verandah overlooking the pool and 200 feet of white sand beach, one of the finest of any villa in Jamaica. A separate formal dining room opening onto an outdoor dining terrace also views out to the sea. All 5 bedrooms, 4 with ocean views, are air conditioned, and have ceiling fans and TV's. The ground floor has 2 large twin bedrooms and a wonderful Kid's Room . This room has a computer, private bath, games, pocket pool table and sofa. The upstairs has 2 very private bedrooms opening onto a covered balcony. One bedroom has a king bed; the second, 2 queen beds. The furnishings are comfortable Jamaican country. The home is filled with original Jamaican art and art objects collected by the owner.
Home-cooked meals are served casually on the outdoor table by the beach or, if guests prefer, in the inside dining room. Most guests prefer to dine on the edge of the sea and linger through dusk under the starry sky. (The chef will prepare separate meals for children and serve them earlier if parents wish.)
Outdoors on the private 4 acres are coconut groves, fruit trees and other tropical plantings. A large swimming pool, with comfortable lounge furniture and walkway to a large white sand beach, make for enjoyable outdoor relaxing. To complete the picture, a well maintained hard surface tennis court assures you that you will never have to wait for that round of doubles.
From land sports to water sports to sunset seaside cocktails, the longtime staff handles virtually everything their guests need for maximum enjoyment of their vacation. Roy, the on-site head of house, has managed Villa Lido for 40 years and is eager to make your stay here an unforgettable one.
