Villa Shambhala, in beautiful Providenciales, provides an ideal milieu for the renewal of body, mind and spirit.
Situated on 2+ gorgeous Long Bay acres, it is worlds away from the busy resorts, yet just minutes from shopping, restaurants, casinos and nightlife. Long Bay remains unspoiled and is home to just a speckling of private residences. Walk its 3 mile long pristine beach and often, the only footprints you'll see will be your own.
Renowned architect Rafael Amuchastegui has taken barefoot elegance to a new level in this 7,300 sq.ft Barbadian-style beachfront villa, where interior and exterior spaces flow seamlessly into one another to create a magical indoor/outdoor living experience. The goal was to create a home where a couple or a group could be equally comfortable: with places to congregate, yet equal attention paid to areas for individuals or couples to enjoy solitude throughout the day. This has been accomplished by creating 4 separate pods, securely linked through open-air travertine galleries. These elegant covered halls feature traditional floor-to-ceiling pistachio colored wrought iron gates and Tuscan columns entwined with heavenly smelling night blooming jasmine and stephanotis from the bordering gardens.
A masterpiece of elegance and design, the main living area consists of a 42' great room, a separate kitchen, and cozy alcove. Entry by way of the covered front veranda and arched foyer instantly presents full stunning views of the ocean and pool. A 24' cathedral ceiling is the crowning point of the room with all hand painted and hand rubbed wood. A formal dining area comfortably seats 10 and shares the panoramic ocean views enjoyed from all areas of the home. Just off of the dining area is the kitchen, which boasts glistening granite countertops, tumbled marble back splashes and custom Guatambo hardwood cabinets from Argentina. The top of the line appliances feature a Wolf six-burner stove, fully integrated Sub Zero fridge, and Miele dishwasher. A personal chef and serving staff can be arranged, and in these cases, recessed panels completely close off the kitchen for privacy. The alcove is furnished with deep cushioned love seats, television and a selection of books, CD's and audio equipment.
Open plantation shutters invite you to a 42' by 16' covered oceanside veranda with outdoor seating areas, waterside dining and barbecue, a 40' infinity pool, hot tub and stepping stones winding gently to the sea.
Villa Shambhala offers 4 spacious and airy bedrooms on the main level. Directly facing the sea, they take full advantage of panoramic beach and ocean views. Each room has hand painted and rubbed cathedral ceilings and opens to private pergola covered terraces; special places of repose to enjoy shore breezes and be captivated by the endless azure and turquoise palette of the sky and sea...a perfect place to indulge yourself in a massage! Bedrooms are outfitted with plush white linens, integrated state of the art audio systems, romantic cove lighting, internet access and Vonage telephones.
Two of the bedrooms are equally spectacular master suites. Situated at opposite ends of the residence, they boast 270 wall to wall plantation shutters that fully open, expanding your room to seemingly draw the turquoise Caribbean waters right to your bedside. Open them in the morning and watch a glorious sunrise without getting out of bed! Both master suites have fabulous baths: one with a free standing bubble tub and glass enclosed shower leading to a private outdoor shower and garden deck that looks out over the water; the other with an oversized tub also overlooking gardens and the sea. There is a large steam shower in this bathroom as well as a private outdoor shower. A secluded garden off this room with an inlaid mosaic tile fountain is a perfect finishing touch
The garden level includes a 5th bedroom or perfectly contained nanny suite with an efficiency kitchen, full bath and French doors leading to a delightful patio. Also on this level is a large media/game room that looks out on gardens through double French doors. There is a 56 flat screen television and Wii - fun for the kids or the whole family! Two of the sofas open to queen size beds and there is a separate full bath.
There is something here for everyone - whether you simply want to relax in the luxurious surroundings, walk along the beach or partake in the many easily accessible activities. Snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding on the beach, kite boarding, world class scuba diving, fishing and golf are just a sample of what the island has to offer.
