Things to see and do

The town also hosts most of the island's 100 restaurants where you can sample everything from seafood, local specialities to international cuisines.
  • Festivals: The island hosts the annual Festival de Musique, a music festival which attracts top international performers in January and February. In April, the island becomes venue to a film festival that showcases the best of Caribbean cinema.
  • Beaches: No description of St Barts Island can be complete without mentioning its more than dozen beaches. The Anse a Colombier beach is pretty secluded. Another popular beach is the easy-access Baie de St. Jean.

Wining & Dining

St Bart is famous for its lofty cuisine, and there are more than 80 restaurants to choose from, with chic bistros and Caribbean taverns. The dining hub of St Barts is undoubtedly the scenic town of Gustavia, which has a high concentration of restaurants offering fining dining options in scenic settings. The French cuisine here is on par with some of the best in the world. The favourite is the seafood, from tuna and spiny lobster to fish soup and salt cod fritters. Asian and Italian dining options are also widely available.

Entertainment and nightlife

Though there are some nightclubs, nightlife is pretty sedate on the island. There are many wine bars that have live jazz during the high season. The scene lights up during the music and film festivals. Some restaurants also offer live entertainment till midnight.

Golfing

There are no golf courses on the islands. The avid golfers can head to nearby islands, the nearest being St Martin.
